✅ 영어소통 : 원활히 가능, 일본어 ✅ 일주일 기준 우핑시간 : 하루5시간 주5일 ======== English explanation ========== ✅ Host Introduction and Free Farm Introduction: In 2015, I moved from Seoul to Tongyeong and have been farming since 2017. We provide our self-produced, small-scale agricultural products to guests and cafe customers, practicing a fusion of the primary and tertiary industries to enhance the added value of local produce. We are also involved in the coffee business, creating various menus with the fresh agricultural products grown on our farm. Our goal is to make food that is healthy, delicious, and environmentally sound. Our main crops are wild raspberries and bangpung (herb), which are used in the guesthouse breakfast and cafe menus. We adhere to a principle of self-production, meaning that any ingredients we do not consume are never sold to guests. After quitting my office job in Seoul and moving to Tongyeong, I was introduced on KBS Human Theater as “The Reason Why Mr. Sang-guk Went to Pungwha-ri.” Exchanging and communicating with travelers from all over the world at this southernmost seashore in East Asia would be an unparalleled source of vitality. ✅ Year Farming Began: 2017 ✅ Farm Type: Family Farm ✅ Main Farm Crops: Wild Raspberries, Bangpung (Herb) ✅ Practices for Eco-friendly Farming : We put food waste from daily life into a composting bin and allow it to decompose for use as fertilizer. We also intermittently return rice water, coffee brew water, and fermented urine to the soil. The weeds growing on the farm are not removed using herbicides or mulching. We do not use plastic or vinyl agricultural supplies. ✅ Eco-friendly Practices in Daily Life : We do not use synthetic detergents that can pollute the sea and water. We wash dishes only with homemade soap or water-loving soap (eco-friendly detergent) purchased from a co-op. Although our children are not often able to do it, we sometimes go down to the village beach to pick up marine litter or collect discarded plastics along the roadside on the way to and from school. ✅ Other Members You Can Meet Besides the Host: Spouse and 4 children ✅ Companion Animals on the Farm: Cats, chickens, lizards, terrestrial turtles ✅ What WWOOFers Do: March–April : Harvesting spring greens May : Reaping barley June : Harvesting wild raspberries and plums July–August : Temporary break in September–October : Harvesting camellias in November : Sowing barley December–February : Break ✅ Preferred Type of WWOOFer: A WWOOFer who independently finds work, helps out, and practices energy saving, and a WWOOFer who travels independently during leisure time. ✅ Message to WWOOFers: We welcome those who love children and animals. Please actively participate in interacting with local residents. ✅ Wi-Fi Availability at the Accommodation : Available ✅ Alcohol/Smoking Policy : No smoking; alcohol is allowed ✅ Meals with the Host: You share one or two meals with the host, and for the rest, ingredients are provided. ✅ Communication in English: English is smooth; Japanese is also possible. ✅ Weekly WWOOFing Hours: 5 hours per day, 5 days a week.

* This review has been carried over from the previous site. Lisa Bernhauser (Austria) : From the start till the end i felt so welcomed at this farm. I felt like a part of their family! The accommodation is great and the cooking is really good and always something different. I had so much fun playing with their kids and the cats. The work itself wasn’t too hard and i learned some things. They also run a coffeshop next door so i enjoyed a lot of great coffee! The location is really pretty and its not too hard to go to Tongyeong citycenter. They both speak english fluently so the communication was flawless! I can’t wait to meet them again!

He was a very kind and energetic person!! He has a Marigold field, and we helped with weeding since it was not a blooming period. The work was a little bit hard, but we enjoyed it! We worked mostly in the evening because he worried about us working during a hot day. He also runs a coffee shop and hostel. We stayed in the hostel next to his house, which was very comfortable. Sometimes, we felt lonely because we ate three meals separately, but he managed that we could do many experiences, such as making gimbap, exploring the city, and trying canoeing. We really enjoyed doing activities with his family!! We had so much time to explore Tongyong city, and we fell in love with the city. It was worth visiting this host! I think I will come back again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much, Mr. Sangkook and his family!!
