I spent a really good time at Keundeul Village! From the beginning, everyone was welcoming and kind with me. The work was varied, besides weeding, I also had the chance to do some handmade work, which I really enjoyed. Also, I truly felt involved in the daily life of the community, cleaning the restaurant with them after eating. One of the highlights for me was being able to learn Pungmul and traditional Korean songs. It was very fun and a great way to learn more about Korean traditional culture! I also had the opportunity to see one of their performances, which I really enjoyed despite my limited Korean skills :'), and to visit the city nearby, Sancheong - thanks to 명희 and 지노 for driving me there! Overall, it was a wonderful experience. If I ever come back to Korea, I would love to return to Keundeul Village without hesitation. Thank you again for welcoming me :)

Stayed at Keundel Village in October for a little less than two weeks. The experience was amazing from beginning to end and I cannot recommend them enough. Me and my friend were welcomed warmly and the accomodations were extremely well maintained, clean, heated and had everything we needed including shampoo, body wash and conditioner. In terms of farm work, we were asked to do some weeding for roughly 4 hours average daily with plenty of breaks in between. The food was the highlight and we were able to eat such a variety of foods with the people of the village. The only time we were asked to prepare our own food was on the weekend; we were taken to the supermarket in town to buy our ingredients for the weekend. The biggest draw here would be the opportunity to learn and watch one of the best Traditional Korean Culture Team in Korea. We had the opportunity to learn Samulnori as well as watch “Madang-guek” which was phenomenal and brought me to tears. It helped that I spoke fluent Korean, however.

I stayed in the village for almost two weeks, and every day was fantastic thanks to the kindness of the entire village! I was lucky enough to share wonderful moments with everyone, and I had the pleasure of learning to play traditional Korean instruments and seeing some moving performances! I could never be grateful enough for all the kindness and warmth of every member of the village! It was very hard to leave because I felt so at home! Thank you again for everything!! I'll miss you a lot everyone!

I spent two incredible weeks at Keundeul village, a warm community that is also a traditional Korean arts company. They regularly perform Madanggeuk (Korean traditional theatre). From day one, we were warmly welcomed and fully integrated into their daily life. The accommodation was our own private, well-equipped studio, which was very comfortable. Because it was the rainy season, there were landslides and damage in the area, so our work was less farming and more helping the village, cleaning debris, light weeding, helping in the kitchen, preparing snacks, tidying shared spaces, and even assisting with theatre set design for their Art Youth Camp. The work was light and varied, and they took the time to teach us, including traditional Korean percussion classes, which were amazing. We also joined them for a weekend trip to Geoje Island, and they covered meals and accommodation, showing incredible generosity. Despite occasional evacuations due to heavy rain alerts, everything was well organised and we always felt safe. More than just volunteering, this was a true cultural exchange and community experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

The people here welcome you with warmth and open arms, creating a truly inviting community. The food was spectacular, and the cultural exchange through conversations was enriching. It was transformative to witness multiple cultural performances as well. The land is beautiful, adorned with charming artworks created by resident artists scattered throughout the farm. The work was very manageable, allowing plenty of time at the end of the day to enjoy all that the place has to offer.

* 본 리뷰는 이전 사이트에서 옮겨온 것 입니다. * This review has been carried over from the previous site. Sayaka (Japan) : I had an extremely rewarding experience at Keundeul. An interesting and culturally significant community made by the team of warm, hospitable and friendly members! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and learned Korean traditional culture. Work: The daytime work schedule was quite light. I spent most of my working days all around the cafeteria or office, helping to clean and packaging presents for the people who support Keundeul. Community: All of the community members were extremely hospitable and warm. Not only that they welcomed me with flowers when I arrived at the bus stop, but also cared about me all the time. They were approachable and patiently listen to what I was trying to say, even though I have limited knowledge on Korean. Accommodation & Food: Basically 3 meals were provided on work days, but on the day off, I ate instant foods and fruits that they gave me or foods that I bought by myself at the supermarket. (They took me to the supermarket by a car). The foods provided by the members were always delicious, healthy and varied. The accommodation was very spacious and homely, with all the amenities provided for WWOOFers. There was a bed, heated floor, a kitchen sink, cooking utensils, and a nice bathroom with hot water. I will miss everything about the time here, thanks to all amazing members and facilities. I hope their performance will go well. Highly recommend WWOOFing here!
