Me and my friend had such a great experience helping out for the Sangol Music Festival! There were so much stuffs and chores to do and we were happy that we were able to help other seniors and the host such as cleaning the rooms and buildings, preparing food for the gathering!
The farm work is paused mainly because it’s winter time but instead ; the Music Festival and we also participated the performance! Even though the practice period was short but other people were so kind and supportive!!
Mrs Kim taught us how to make kimbab and kimchi pancake while we were there! We also went for brisk walk together at the dam.
Mr Kim likes music so much and we sang Arirang and other songs together! We learned a lot from the host from their actions, words and wisdom and their kindness :) We felt that we really picked a great place to start WWOOFing!
We ate all 3 meals together with the host and other Nanumteo guests! Food were really tasty (if you tried a lot of Korean food before) and you can feel that it was prepared with love and warmth :)
It’s such a whole lot better experience if you’re able to speak Korean! Me and my friend learned a lot of Korean new words and expressions here!
People that we met at Nanumteo were really kind & warm to us. It is such an unforgettable experience to be here. If you come here, you will be able to learn Korean culture deeply; how they talk to each other, how food are made, how people live in Korea country side, and many more!

I had a truly wonderful time at Nanumteo Farm with Mr. and Mrs. Kim. From the very beginning, they welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home. Each morning, I worked with Mr. Kim for about three hours in the fields—removing rocks and sowing radish seeds—and on some days I helped Mrs. Kim with weeding. Afternoons were completely free, with just a little help around mealtimes.
The meals were absolutely delicious, and I especially enjoyed the community aspect: neighbors often joined us at the table, so there was always a lively, friendly atmosphere. Twice a week, Mr. Kim taught us how to play Jangu (a traditional Korean drum) and sing the "Arirang" song, and they even invited me to join a friend’s wedding, visit local markets, and go hiking with Mrs. Kim. These experiences made me feel not just like a guest, but part of their community.
Even though I don’t speak Korean, communication was never a problem. Mrs. Kim speaks English very well, and with Mr. Kim we managed through gestures, demonstrations, and lots of good humor.
Overall, this was an incredible and unforgettable experience—the perfect way to end my two-month journey in South Korea. I am deeply grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Kim for their kindness, generosity, and for sharing their lives with me.

chin man billy leung (Canada) : Here the emphasis is more on people and culture rather than farming. Mr Kim has a few patches around for growing. Some of the days one could imagine putting focussed efforts in the field. However, when you are the visitor here you will be mingling with a lot of visiting artists and musicians in this place. If you speak and understand some Korean it will be a great place to boost your immersion, otherwise you will have to adjust and use your body language to go through your stay. However, it has its lively ambience and its charm given the amount of social activities being gathered there from time to time. 대둔산 is close by for those who enjoy a hike up the mountain. It is a lovely place and view above is just as breathtaking as ever on a clear day.
I truly enjoyed my time there with everybody and have improved my Korean quite a bit as well. Thank you so much to Mr Kim for teaching me everything that you could possibly share.

Phoebe von Düffel (Germany) : I arrived in Korea very insecure about traveling alone and WWOOFING in winter. Mr and Mrs Kim were my first WWOOF host. I arrived and was quite nervous but Mr Kim immediately made me feel like part of the family. I stayed 10 days only, but it was an amazing and unique experience. Since it was in winter there wasn’t much work to be done. I felt like I couldn’t give back to Mr and Mrs Kim what they would so generously give every day. Mr Kim cooked all the time amazing meals for us. The two of them gave me everything I needed and even more than that. I really enjoyed my time during the day. I usually worked in the morning, then helped Mr Kim cooking and then in the afternoon had time for walks, reading and enjoying living with a Korean family. The farm was always busy. Everyday Mr Kim’s friends would come by we shared a lot of nice experiences all together. I enjoyed learning so much about the Korean culture! This place is a cultural center and so I met a lot of interesting people, a lot of artists!
The lifestyle is not very eco friendly, but I think that for Mr Kim the most important thing is to worship life every single moment by having fun with friends and family. I had a lot of fun! We danced and sang all together and I learned so much in just 10 days!
I really want to go back and visit that place!
I recommend this farm to everyone who doesn’t care as much about organic farming and sustainability, but is just looking for an authentic Korean experience!
Thank you Mr and Mrs Kim for everything you have done for me!
Thank you for introducing me to your friends! You all are such nice and generous people! I hope to see you again!

WWOOFer (Singapore) : An excellent place to WWOOF at and it was my very first WWOOFING experience. Really glad to meet Mr and Mrs Kim here. Happened to bump into a fellow WWOOFER here as well and it was a great pleasure meeting her.
My one month here was unexpected but I am really lucky to have spent my one month here.
A note I would like to convey from Mr and Mrs Kim is that they prefer long-term WWOOFERS (2 weeks and above) if possible.
