By rotating and intercropping various crops, we strive to cultivate peace rather than war in the border region of the divided Korean Peninsula. Our mission is to restore the land for self-sufficient food production for both South and North Koreans. 활동적이고 매우 친절한 호스트였습니다. 다양한 분들을 소개해 주시거나 매번 다른 일을 하게 해 주시거나, 콘서트에 데려가 주시거나, 역사 가이드를 해 주시거나 해서 많은 것을 배웠습니다. 밤늦게까지 귀중한 이야기를 들려주셔서 감사합니다. 훌륭한 활동을 하고 있는 호스트와 함께 할 수 있어서 행복했습니다. 서로 피아노도 치고, 제 요리를 많이 먹어주시고, 책 선물도 해주신 것도 너무 기뻤습니다. 다시 만날 날을 기대하고 있습니다. 부디 건강하게 지내시기 바랍니다.

같이 지낸 며칠 동안 많은 일들이 추억으로 남아있어요. 요리도, 풀도 잘 매고 뉴질랜드에서 사는 이야기도 매우 용기있고 기후위기가 심각해지는 시기에 인상깊었어요. 리뷰 못 올려서 미안해요. 파주에서 벌어지는 많은 일 가운데 어제 오늘 햇빛장이 헤이리에서 열리고 있어요. 분명 좋아했을텐데 아쉬워요. 함께 나눈 대화와 정성껏 차려준 비건요리를 잊지 못할 거에요. 다시 만나기를 바라며, 천천히 편안하고 건강하게 잘 지내가를 기도합니다. 또 만나요!

She is the amazing host! She is very nice and inspiring. I feel like I learned a lot just by having a conversation with her. I can speak a little bit of Korean, so we mostly communicated in Korean with a little bit of English. I went there during summer and the weather was very hot, so we only worked in the early morning and have some time to rest in the afternoon. I met another wwoofer from germany and other village members as well, they are all very nice. The farm is built based on the permaculture concept, so I can see that everything is well-thought planning.

농사 일 외에도 다양한 활동에 참여할 수 있어서 더 특별한 경험이었던 것 같아요. 감사합니다! I had a wonderful time staying with Jinwha last month. We made almost all our meals together, which was such a warm and meaningful part of the stay. I went with a friend, and we both had so much fun. In addition to farming, we also got to participate in other activities, which made the experience even more memorable. As a native Korean speaker, communication was not a problem for me.

정진화 선생님이 호스트로 계신 평화마을짓자에서 일주일 동안 우프를 했습니다. 짓자 밭에서 잡초를 뽑고 허브를 수확하는 일을 도왔고, 선생님 개인 온실에서는 물 주기와 잡초 제거를 함께 했습니다. 생활은 선생님 댁에서 했고, 식사 준비 시 채소를 씻거나 식탁을 차리는 등 집안일도 도왔습니다. 집은 매우 깔끔하고 쾌적하며, 수건, 세탁기 등 필요한 모든 생활용품이 잘 갖춰져 있었습니다. 저는 친구와 함께 갔지만 따로 방을 쓸 수 있어 편했습니다. 하루 일과는 선생님의 스케줄에 따라 밭에 다녀오고, 동네 분들을 만나고, 가끔 외식도 하며 다양하게 흘러갑니다. 운 좋게도 헤이리마을에서 열린 햇빛장에도 참여해서 우리가 수확한 채소를 판매해보는 재미있는 경험도 했고, DMZ 지역을 투어하고, 민통선 안에 있는 배 농장에서 일하기도 했습니다. 중간에 자유시간도 주셔서 저희만의 시간도 가질 수 있었습니다. 정진화 선생님은 매우 따뜻하고 배려 깊으신 분이며, 다양한 활동을 통해 지역과 농촌의 삶을 깊이 체험할 수 있게 도와주셨습니다. 밭에는 닭들도 있어 더욱 정겨운 분위기였습니다. 농촌 체험을 하고 싶은 여성분들께 특히 추천드리고 싶습니다. 저도 기회가 된다면 꼭 다시 방문하고 싶습니다!

* 본 리뷰는 이전 사이트에서 옮겨온 것 입니다. * This review has been carried over from the previous site. 최린다 (Korea) : 어머니께서 일상에 에너지도 잃어버리고 많이 마음이 지쳐서 우핑을 함께 해보면 좋겠다는 생각이 들었습니다. 저도 우퍼이지만 처음 우핑을 해보는 가족과 함께 간다는 것이 설레기도 하고 부담도 조금 있었습니다. 평화마을짓자 밭은 일거리가 많은 시기는 아니어서 쌈지농부 천호균 선생님의 띵크그린에서 일하기도 했습니다. 파주를 중심으로 활동하시는 여러 농부님들을 만날 수 있었고 공동체밭인 짓자밭을 이곳저곳 둘러볼 수 있어서 즐거웠습니다. 주로 밭일로 김매기와 정리를 했고 어머니와 콩 3알씩 토종 콩을 심고 이름표를 붙였습니다. 시간이 한참 지나서 호스트님께서 자라난 작물 사진을 보내주었습니다. 심고 제대로 돌보지 못했는데 무럭무럭 자라난 모습을 보니 감동이 일었던 기억이 납니다. 또한 대마 등 친환경소재를 적극적으로 활용해서 만든 평화마을 건축을 이곳저곳 살펴봤습니다. 완공되어 살고 계신 집도 있고 현재 공사중인 집도 있었는데 공동체 전체를 적정기술과 친환경 시스템으로 만들어가고 있었습니다. 평화마을 정진화 호스트님의 1번째 우퍼로 지냈는데 편안하고 넉넉한 마음을 나눠주셔서 잠을 잘 잤던 기억이 납니다. 하루 일과를 마무리하고 호스트님과 평화마을 막걸리를 마시며 담소를 나누기도 했습니다. 각자의 가치를 삼고 그 가치로 삶을 살아가는 공동체를 보고 어머니도 저도 용기와 힘을 얻었습니다.
