✅ 숙소에서 와이파이 가능 여부 : 가능 ✅ 술,담배 가능여부 : 간헐적 외부 흡연 및 음주 가능 ✅ 호스트와 식사 여부 : 아침은 식재료 제공, 각자 숙소에서 하고 점심과 저녁은 함께 먹음, 가끔 외식 ✅ 영어 소통 : 원활히 가능 ✅ 일주일 기준 우핑 시간 : 하루 5시간 주 5일 ======== English explanation ========== ✅Introduction to the Host and the Farm : Our farm is located in a clean mountain area about one and half an hours by a subway and 15min by car north of Seoul, where we preserve native Korean plants while also operating a campsite and guesthouse. About 8 acres of the farm has a small hill and a pond with fish, so you can enjoy peaceful walks and even practice traditional Korean archery. In spring, we collect young sprouts and prepare the fields for planting crops. In autumn, we harvest wild fruits such as darae (hardy kiwi), cudrania fruit, and ginkgo nuts. During both spring and autumn, we also work on repairing and maintaining campsite facilities, cleaning and organizing the area, and making and arranging firewood. All tasks are of a reasonable intensity that an average healthy person can comfortably do, and you are always free to take breaks whenever needed. We are a couple who have just turned 70 years old, and nearby there is a fairly large pesticide-free blueberry farm run by our daughter’s family. To briefly explain our wild herb farming, it is quite different from conventional agriculture. Rather than planting, fertilizing, and harvesting according to seasons, we preserve naturally growing plants that are edible or medicinal, and harvest their leaves, roots, or fruits when needed. Because of this, there is very little routine farm work related to the wild herbs themselves. Occasionally, we remove tall surrounding weeds or prune tree branches. People visiting the farm for the first time sometimes say, “I only see grass and weeds, not wild herbs.” However, we carefully document and manage more than 100 kinds of wild herbaceous plants and over 100 kinds of wild woody plants. We also dry harvested fruits and leaves, or place them in traditional jars with sugar to make fermented extracts and vinegar. ✅Year Farming Started : 2003 ✅Farm Type : Family farm, educational farm, campsite ✅Main Crops : Kuji-bong (paper mulberry), dare (Amur cork tree), ginkgo nuts, mulberry trees ✅Eco-Friendly Farming Practices : No use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides ✅Eco-Friendly Lifestyle Practices : Making compost or using eco-friendly fertilizers ✅People You Can Meet Besides the Host : Spouse, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter ✅Pets on the Farm : A cat ✅ Pets allowed: indoor sleeping is not permitted. ✅Tasks for WWOOFers : -March–April : Preparing garden beds and planting vegetables, Weeding work, Harvesting mulberry leaves and young tree shoots, Tree pruning, Making fermented extracts and transferring them into bottles, Repairing, improving, and cleaning campsite facilities and surroundings, Making and organizing firewood,Making compost.etc -October–November : Harvesting fruits, Harvesting root vegetables, Making fermented extracts and transferring them into bottles, Preparing and making kimchi for winter, Making and organizing firewood, Repairing, improving, and cleaning campsite facilities and surroundings.Making computer.etc. ✅Preferred WWOOFers : Hardworking and honest individuals ✅Message to WWOOFers : Let’s eat, work, and have lots of conversations together! ✅Wi-Fi Availability in Accommodation : Available ✅Alcohol and Smoking Policy : Occasional outdoor smoking allowed; drinking is permitted (smoking is not allowed indoors, but drinking is allowed) ✅Meals with the Host : You share one or two meals with the host, and for the rest, ingredients are provided. ✅English Communication : Fluent ✅WWOOFing Hours Per Week : 5 hours per day, 5 days a week

We stayed at Amigol for one week, it was a pleasant stay. We had some culture exchane during worktime. The food was good and prepared with care. We did construction work, work on the feelds and picked fresh edible plants. The work can be sometimes hard but honest. Everything is negotiable i've you want to do something else or to take a break it was fine. Hanpil showed us how to shoot with bow and arrow and we joined traditional drum classes. It was a wonderfull culture exchange for us, Hanpil and his wife are lovely people with a great hart.

Thank you for leaving a sincere review. We have been studying how to build a traditional Korean ondol, and this time we wanted to try making one ourselves. Sandra and Dennis were a great help—thank you very much. I also hope that WWOOFers will take an interest in Korea’s traditional heating system and have a meaningful and enjoyable experience. Once again, thank you for your help. Best regards,Hanpil

Work is not as described: there was no farming this spring, only grueling construction labor to build a private sauna for his winter use. This violates WWOOF Korea platform and South Korea's tourist visa regulations. The accommodation was mold-infested; food meager. Despite my requesting farming work, Hanpil claimed there was no farming work available, so I left within one day to avoid injury. Work hours were longer than agreed upon in the membership agreement (5 hours), and it was clear the farmer wanted to extract as much labor as possible and lashed out at volunteers for tardiness. These are violations of the Membership Agreement, local labor laws, and fundamental safety standards.

Dear Esther, Your decision to visit our farm as someone who studies wild vegetables and is writing a book was, I believe, a very good choice. However, I now understand that you may have felt your time was wasted and even frustrated when I asked you to help with tasks such as soil preparation and weeding. Preparing and filtering soil is a fundamental part of farming, and I had planned to use clean soil for a small garden. Building an ondol, as well, is a valuable aspect of traditional Korean culture and can be a rare and meaningful hands-on experience. In any case, WWOOFing requires an understanding that rural farm life is quite different from the convenience and comfort of city life. Most importantly, it is a globally recognized, positive exchange based on mutual trust, meaningful communication, dedication, and gratitude. Sincerely,Hanpil

Pu Yan Wong (HK) : If you don’t speak Korean, it’s definitely a great place for you to do wwoofing here as the host Hanpil한필 speaks good English and taught me a lot about agriculture and even Korean history, traditional musical instruments, and archery! His wife 이모 can only speak very basic English but she cooks really well and I was lucky to be able to see her making kimchi and offer some help. The couple is very kind and treated me very well. The workload was not heavy at all and Hanpil often worked with us. Sometimes, we went to his son-in-law's blueberry farm to work (weeding), which was actually the toughest work I had under the sunny and hot weather but I tolerated it pretty well. Besides weeding, we got various tasks to do and some of them were really special. On the weekends, Hanpil and his wife are usually busy providing service to their guests who came for camping experiences. I was happy and thankful that Hanpil brought me to visit the DMZ (demilitarised zone) and 연천 to see the royal tomb. If there is a day off, it is highly recommended to go to the shrine called 연천 숭의전지 and go for a hike. One more highlight is the Amione Cafe which you will pass by when heading to the shrine. It’s one of the best coffee shops I’ve ever been to! Overall, I felt super happy for having the wwoofing experience on this farm, not to mention that there was an American wwoofer working with me all along the time, making it a lot more fun. 한필하고 이모, 비록 자연농장에서 짧은 시간을 보냈지만, 저는 모든 것에 감사합니다.

* 본 리뷰는 이전 사이트에서 옮겨온 것 입니다. * This review has been carried over from the previous site. Samantha Liew (Singapore) : This is my first WWOOF-ing experience in South Korea. It is a humble and grateful experience. 삼춘 is a humorous man and always have great stories to tell. His international experience is amazing! 이모 cooks really well! I tried to learn a bit of her cooking with my limited Korean vocabulary. The weather started to turn really cold during my stay and they were always worried if I was cold. They thought of many ways to keep me warm and I am really grateful to them. On the weekend, the place transforms to a camping site. Koreans from the city comes here and I managed to join a group! It was a cosy night :) There was another wwoof-er at the same period. Sometimes we help out at the family’s blueberry farm and 삼춘 brought us to DMZ, Horogoru Fortress and tomb of King Gyeongsun. It was an wholistic experience to understand the history of Korea. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be away from the busy city and be under starry night sky. Thank you again ^^

* 본 리뷰는 이전 사이트에서 옮겨온 것 입니다. * This review has been carried over from the previous site. Margi DiPietro (USA) : First of all, Imo is an amazing cook. I aspire to one day be as talented as her. Getting to Amigol was somewhat easy. Just follow the signs for Soyosan while on the metro. I recommend KakaoMaps for real-time subway and bus directions if you need them. For work, I mostly helped Samchon with his construction projects and learned a lot in the process. We worked 3 hours in the morning, had lunch and a break, and then worked 3 hours in the afternoon. The work was not hard, but bring work clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. I stayed in a room in the upstairs of the house where there are 4 rooms for woofers or the guests. Amigol functioned as a campsite/getaway destination so on the weekends, guests would come. The room was nice, there was a full sized bed with a heating pad, a sink and little kitchenette for cooking breakfast etc. Samchon took me to cultural heritage sites close to Amigol including a shrine, a tomb, and fort horugoru. We also went to the DMZ peace park on the Imjingak river. Samchon spoke English with no issue and helped me learn some Korean as well. Imo and I could not speak to each other, which was difficult because I wanted to learn about her cooking, but it wasn't an issue. Overall, I had a great experience and I hope this review helps those trying to decide where to visit!

Dave King (Ireland) : This was my first time ever wwoofing and I had a fantastic experience working on this farm. The hosts Hanpil and Soon are incredibly welcoming and kind. Soon is an amazing cook. The food was always delicious and all made with the freshest ingredients. There is a huge variety of tasks to do on the farm, you will learn so much from your experience here. Hanpil speaks great English and has many great stories. He is also really good at DIY so you can learn a lot from working with him. The area itself has a lot of history and some beautiful rivers, scerery and historical locations. I highly recommend you pay this farm a visit if you come to Korea. Thanks again Hanpil and Soon for an amazing experience!
