Beyond farming, we also run an international school, a youth camping site, and a village community consisting of 35 households. Dure Village was my very first wwoofing and a very successful one at that. It gave me the confidence I needed to try new wwoofings from now on.
As the farm is busy and there's always something to be done, everyday was filled with new experiences.
But more than the farm work, what I will remember the most is the kindness of the people who welcomed me as one of their own.
A special thank you to the host for his extreme kindness, his patience in teaching me new words in Korean and new songs and for making me want to dream big and continue to learn just like him.
(Merci beaucoup) !

My two week stay at Dure Farm has been an incredible experience. The hosts, Mr Geum and Esther (Mrs Geum), welcomed us warmly and took such great care of us that I’m really glad I chose this place for my first WWOOFing experience.
Mr. Geum takes great pride in his farm and often taught us about the different crops and the reasons behind his farming techniques. Although I could not speak Korean, it was not a problem as I was still able to converse with him through basic English. Through his patience and passion for the land, I also learned to appreciate nature more. Esther would also visit us regularly, always bringing delicious snacks for our break times. One day, she also brought traditional korean clothing hanbok for us to try on to take pictures against the beautiful mountain backdrop here.
All meals were provided at the cafeteria, which served authentic and fresh Korean food that I looked forward to every day. The other villagers were also very friendly and some invited us to their homes to share a meal. One of them even drove us out to a Korean market and treated us to hotteok and lunch.
Overall, this WWOOFing experience has been truly wonderful, and I’m sure it will remain an unforgettable memory that I will always cherish. Thank you so much, Mr. Geum and Esther!! ❤️

My friends and I had our first WWOOFing experience in October with Mr. Geum, and we truly enjoyed our two weeks at the beautiful Dure Village. Each day brought something new — from harvesting peanuts, peppers, and pumpkins to planting onions.
Mr. Geum was down-to-earth and genuine, always eager to share his wisdom — from organic farming techniques to life lessons, music, and his love for nature. We enjoyed every conversation and laugh together.
Hosting us alongside him was Esther (Mrs. Geum), who took wonderful care of us. Despite her busy schedule, she always checked in, brought us snacks, and even came to the fields to take photos. The Dure Village community was warm and welcoming, inviting us for meals and tea and taking us out on weekends — it truly felt like family.
The accommodations were cozy, and the cafeteria meals were healthy and freshly made with farm produce. Work usually started at 9 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m., with lunch at noon. There’s also a small shop for snacks and a bus to Dongducheonjungang Station (Line 1), near Jihaeng Station, where you can find essentials, bakeries, and cafés.
If you’re looking for a meaningful WWOOFing experience to learn, grow, and feel genuinely welcomed, we can’t recommend Dure Village enough. Don’t hesitate to visit Mr. Geum’s farm — it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

My stay at Dure Farm for eight days was overall meaningful & educational. Mr. Guem was an absolute pleasure to work with — kind, patient, and genuinely appreciative of the help. The work was fulfilling & included planting Welsh onion seeds, rice husking a cabbage field, & harvesting red peppers. A highlight was when Mr. Guem treated me & another woofer to dinner at a local grandmother’s restaurant, where the food & warmth of the experience were truly unforgettable.
Meals provided in the cafeteria were consistently delicious, with a wide variety that accommodate vegetarians, vegans, &!omnivores alike. You’ll never go hungry — soup & rice accompany every meal, and everything is fresh and nourishing.
Though Dure Farm is wonderful, I did find certain aspects of my stay challenging. Sometimes during or after break hours, Mrs. Guem would request participation in nature walks or photo sessions for their blog. Her requests often felt obligatory & tiring. Especially when I wasn’t feeling well and had expressed my exhaustion. Even after sharing my discomfort, her response tended to place the responsibility back on me to decline. That created some unease. Additionally, the occasional religious discussions and pressures from villagers felt at odds with the inclusive and open spirit that WWOOF represents.
Overall, Dure Farm offers a unique cultural & agricultural learning opportunity, w/excellent food & a kind, generous host in Mr. Guem. One day I hope to return despite challenges.

I had a wonderful three-week stay at Dure Farm in July and August. The host couple were very kind and welcoming, and a highlight for me was joining them at church on Sundays. The accommodation was clean and spacious, with good WiFi and AC. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, and I especially enjoyed having a coffee at the café after lunch and chatting with the lovely lady who runs it.
Working with Mr. Geum was always fun since he is so passionate about nature and his life philosophy. I feel I’ve learned a lot at Dure Farm, not only about farming but also about living in harmony with nature. I would be happy to visit again in the future.

My time at Dure Mountain was a unique 2 weeks of my life that I will never forget. We lived in a sparse house at the top of a hill, part of a row of houses nestled into the side of the mountain. We ate meals - 7am, 12pm, and 5pm - at the cafeteria, where ladies would pop steaming duck into my mouth and always cajole us into getting seconds. Generally, we worked 7ish to 10, then again in the evening 5ish to 7 to beat the steamy midday heat of August. We did something different every day, from planting seeds to weeding to digging trenches for radishes, but one constant was Mr. Geum's ineffable joy and energy. His rough English and my nonexistent Korean proved no boundary for jokes, basketball references, and poignant messages on our relationship with the earth. The community was always happy to see us and welcomed us into their lives, from taking us out to lunch to serving us traditional Korean dinner from their kitchen. Life is a little chaotic at Dure, with minimal structure, gorgeous nature, and delicious food, you will wonder how quickly time slips away.
