Our main crops are beekeeping and blueberries, and we also cultivate various spices, grains, and wild vegetables for self-sufficiency and package products. Arriving at the Snail Farm, you'll feel as if you're embraced by the surrounding mountains. Sunlight and stunning views greet you as you work in the fields. The women who run this farm are inspiring and teach you about sustainable living, waste reduction, permaculture, kimchi making, harvesting, and much more. Each has their own unique skills. While the work is hard, they provide excellent meals. They accommodate all dietary restrictions. I visited in November and experienced kimchi-making day! It was an unforgettable experience, and I can't wait to go home and make kimchi. The effort of making kimchi has deepened my appreciation for its value. On my days off, I can explore Danyang's beautiful scenery! I really enjoyed hiking with Bluebee! There are many wonderful trails nearby. The best part was laughing at the dinner table while listening to these women's stories. Their strength and passion for improving nature is inspiring. I look forward to visiting again soon.

The three hosts are incredibly kind souls and one can tell how much they care for the environment from all their little actions and decisions. They are also very willing to share their farm experience, life hacks and even life advice. I went with my mom and I can speak a bit of Korean. I'm in my 20s and my mom is in her 50s. I do recommend learning a bit of Korean before going if not conversations will be quite limited or the exchange will be largely dependent on translation apps. We went in Dec so we mostly helped with winter prep, indoor work like cutting various vegetables to dehydrate, outdoor work like gathering leaves to cover their crops / the soil etc. Apparently June is the busiest month where they will need more help with harvesting the blueberries and strawberries. The farm is not the most accessible by public transport so I would recommend staying for at least a week to avoid inconveniencing them. There's also a cute little cat called 콩 / bean :) Food-wise, it's usually homecooked meals by the hosts and it's always absolutely delicious. We aren't vegetarians but they are also mindful to check if the wwoofers are. The only thing I regret is... not bringing some local food from my country to share with them. We were a bit worried that they might have dietary restrictions so we just brought so tea bags... Will definitely bring something more interesting next time.

I will cherish all the memories made at Danyang Snail farm for a very long time. Not only did I meet extraordinary people (hosts and wwoofers), but I learnt a thing or two about how I want to live my life from now on. Bluebee, Sonamu and Sansori were such an inspiration. They welcome every wwoofer into their house as if we were family and took very good care of us. It was a pleasure helping them with various tasks at the farm, going on walks and hikes, cooking, singing, dancing and enjoying the sunsets together. Thank you for a wonderful stay in that gorgeous environnement and see you in June for the Bluberry season !

I really enjoyed my stay at the farm!!! I arrived at the station and got picked up by a taxi, and from the moment I arrived I felt truly welcome. The farm is a beautiful place tucked away in a tiny mountain village of only four houses. Bluebee, Sonamu, and Sansori gave me a wonderful introduction to Korean culture, extremely delicious food, and farm life. It was also great meeting and getting to know fellow WWOOFers Saem, Charmaine & Jiwon. During my stay I did many different tasks, including harvesting peanuts and pumpkins, packing honey, and peeling peppers. We also visited the nearby city and enjoyed lunch outside, which was a great addition to the experience. On top of that, we also worked at the neighbor’s farm and at a temple to help the monks. Altogether, it was an experience I will never forget. If it were a little closer to my home country, I would come much more often for sure.

언제든 Milou 환영합니다!^^ 늘 건강하고 당당하고 행복하길 빌게~~~^^ Milou~~ Are you back in Germany now? We were so happy to be able to work with Milou. Reading Milou's post reminds me of Nao, Sam, Charmaine, and Jiwon. We're selling all the honey we packaged together, and we're still enjoying the peanut pumpkin!~^^ If only we were closer, I could easily go to Germany to see Milou... We've become a new family member. We'll always be waiting for you. Milou is always welcome!^^ I wish you continued health, confidence, and happiness~~~^^

A big thank you to the snail farm for giving my friends and I an unforgettable experience. We did a variety of activities, such as harvesting persimmons, yams, cabbages, millets and planted garlics, onions, rye etc. We were well-fed with organic yummy meals everyday, and appreciated their efforts to organise doenjang workshop at a temple as well as arranging day trips during our rest days. While the work can be tough at times, we had lots of fun with the hosts and other WWOOFers. Thank you Bluebee, Sansori and Sonamu (+Kong) for your care and love!

Participating in WWOOF gave me a completely different experience from my usual travel holidays. Living and working on a farm allowed me to experience the real Korean lifestyle. My three hosts — Blue Bee, Sonamu, and Sansori — were incredibly warm and welcoming. During my two-week stay, I also met many of their friends and made new ones along the way. I joined during the October harvest season, and together with the hosts and their friends, we harvested persimmons, perilla seeds, a citrus fruit called taeng-ja, chillies, and more. Beyond the farm work, we cooked delicious meals, enjoyed spontaneous picnics, and turned even the tiring moments into fun and memorable ones.
