<JN137>쉼과 문화가 있는 녹차정원/A Green Tea Garden of Rest and Culture
전라남도 / Jeollanam-do

Hello, my name is Ulrim Oh. I am a woman in my 30s, and I run an organic tea farm with my parents in Haenam, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. Since 1997, we have followed natural farming with no pesticides and no chemical fertilizers, living in a way that stays close to nature.
The profile photo shows my parents. I, Ulrim, will be the main person for contact and communication.
Our farm is more than a tea field. We grow many teas from seed, including green tea, fermented tea, mugwort tea, magnolia flower tea, and tteok tea. We also run a hanok stay, a small tea house, and traditional culture experiences. My mother leads programs in Korean traditional music, such as pansori, pungmul, and samulnori, so visitors can experience both nature and Korean culture. Our family includes my parents and me, plus two gentle dogs: Youngsim (10) and Arong (7), a mother-and-daughter pair. In 2026, my mother is on a sabbatical, so my father and I will manage everything together.
We do not only farm—we live with nature every day. We avoid pesticides and fertilizers, focus on seasonal food, use machines as little as possible, and do much of the work by hand. We hope your time here helps you slow down, feel nature closely, and reflect on daily life.
All our tea trees are grown from seed, and they grow with many other plants—trees, grasses, and flowers—to support biodiversity. We care most about healthy soil and a balanced ecosystem, and we farm at a pace that matches nature’s recovery. This takes time and effort, but it creates tea with a deep, gentle taste—and a slower, calmer rhythm of life to share.
The WWOOF accommodation is about a 2-minute walk from the tea fields. The room may change depending on the situation. Usually it is a separate space for WWOOFers, but sometimes it may be shared. It is a quiet and comfortable place with a traditional atmosphere, where you can rest and feel close to nature.
★★We accept WWOOFers who can stay at least two weeks, and we prefer long-term stays.★★

This was a perfect first WOOFing experience! The atmosphere was calm, the farm was beautiful, and everyone was so kind. I didn't expect to experience so much culture in my three weeks, but I am so happy that I did. And I got to drink some of the best tea I've ever had.
The work was also very rewarding and easy-going. I found a real inner-peace during my time.
Thank you for such a lovely time! I hope to return someday soon.

I had a wonderful two weeks at Seoladawon ! In such a short time, I learnt so much about tea, about the region and its dialect, meditation etc... Everyday was so full of new experiences that it felt like a whole month. The place is gorgeous, it's easy to go hiking or biking on your day off, or even stay on the premises and have a nice walk near the river.
I want to thank again the hosts for taking the time to teach us so much and take us to different places. Wwoofing is really not only about farm work, but also discovering a new culture.

It was like a fairy tale, but for real.
I learned how to live again here.
The whole family is incredibly kind: the parents, the two daughters, and the dogs.
And I mean it: everyone, without exception, was unparalleled in their kindness.
Ulrim told me it would be a good experience for me. She was right.
It was even more than that: I had a wonderful life here for a month.
The place is spectacularly beautiful with the magnificent colors of the tea fields stretching as far as the eye can see over Duryunsan.
You will learn about the different types of tea grown, their harvest periods, tea cultivation and maintenance methods, the tea ceremony, traditionnal Korean music, the Korean language, and more.
Your tasks will include picking tea flowers and seeds, weeding, cutting tea leaves, packaging tea, and sometimes cleaning the rooms of the hanok/minbak.
The work was never stressful or difficult. You have time to have a rest. This family works hard, and it was a pleasure to meet them.
The homemade food is incredible.
I made some friends in the village and surrounding area.
You will hear traditional songs, meditate, learn, and meet new people.
I had some great conversations and a lot of fun.
I experienced a feeling there that I hadn't felt in a long time : happiness.
I don't even know how to thank the family.
I enjoyed every second of my life here.
I highly recommend it. We must support them. I miss them already.
Thank you for bringing joy into my life.

I had an amazing 2 weeks at Seola Dawon ! The work wasn't too hard and I loved working with tea smells. They always make sure you get rest and breaks with frequent snack and tea time. From the beginning you become part of the farm's daily life and they make sure you get the most interesting experiences during your stay. I was for example able to go to the region's tea festival and they kindly took me to Wando as I really wanted to visit it. Thank you for all the memories, I will be very happy to visit again !

It was my first time and I don’t think I could have gotten a better place than this beautiful green tea farm. The workload was manageable , fun and educational. I loved how much I learnt about Korea, its culture and about tea and its life cycle. Not only that but about farming and the responsibilities that come with it. Ulim also was a great friend and an amazing businesswoman, I learned so much through our conversations and when I was helping her. The family allowed me to become a member easily and helped me with everything. I will never forget this experience and I think about it almost daily still. I hope to come back again and again.

I went to this farm as a first time WWOOFer, slightly nervous about the people I would meet, but this place was amazing. I was in S. Korea for 3 months, and by far this was my favourite experience, and perhaps one of the best experiences of my life so far. The family here are so kind and wonderful to talk to, teaching me about life and tea culture. The tea farm itself is so beautiful and fragrant. The memories I have of sunrise walks followed by fresh green tea and a chat will never be forgotten, not will the kindness of my hosts. Thank you! :)
