✅ 영어소통 : 번역기 통해 가능 ✅ 일주일 기준 우핑시간 : 하루5시간 주5일 ======== English explanation ========== ✅ Introduction to the Host and the Farm : Around 2010, while working in Seoul, I began cultivating tangerines at an orchard in Samdal-ri, Seogwipo, using weekends and holidays. At the time, I had no knowledge or experience in farming, but since my family consumed organic produce at home, I decided to grow tangerines organically. However, since I couldn’t fully devote myself to farming, the fruit quality was not very good and many trees died. As a result, I replanted about one-third of the orchard with young seedlings. Through years of keeping farming journals and participating in training at the local Agricultural Technology Center, the quality and taste of the tangerines have greatly improved, and the trees have become strong and well adapted to organic farming. Unfortunately, because the orchard next to mine uses chemical pesticides and fertilizers, my farm cannot be certified as organic, and it seems unlikely this will change. At the end of 2023, I retired from my job in Seoul and became a full-time farmer. For about 15 years, what has kept me going is the pride of producing organic food, as well as the energy I feel from working with the land—watching, cutting, and walking on the wildflowers and grass that grow throughout the orchard. I also built a guesthouse on one side of the orchard, and since retiring, I enjoy each day as if I were on vacation, creating a lifestyle that suits me and brings joy and happiness. Come walk the grass and enjoy the sea with me! ✅ Year Farming Started : 2010 ✅ Farm Type : Private orchard (with guesthouse, including farm-stay experiences) ✅ Main Crops : Tangerines, Hallabong, Hwanggeumhyang (special Jeju citrus varieties) ✅ Eco-Friendly Farming Practices : Tangerines are grown using only organic fertilizers and organic pest control materials. ✅ Eco-Friendly Lifestyle Practices : Recycling and waste separation, using an electric car. ✅ People You Can Meet Besides the Host : Guesthouse visitors ✅ Pets on the Farm : None ✅ Tasks for WWOOFers : -March–April: Pruned branch clearing, weeding -October–December: Harvesting and transporting tangerines, packing for delivery, loading/unloading boxes, pruning branch clearing ✅ Preferred WWOOFers : No preference ✅ Message to WWOOFers : Please keep the accommodation clean and tidy, including dishes and bedding. ✅ Wi-Fi Availability in Accommodation : Available ✅ Alcohol and Smoking Policy : Non-smoking, but drinking is allowed ✅ Meals with the Host : 1–2 meals per day together, other meals with provided ingredients (self-cooking) ✅ English Communication : Possible via translator ✅ WWOOFing Hours Per Week : 5 hours per day, 5 days a week

We feel so lucky to have been Shinsub’s first WWOOFers! He is an incredibly kind and generous host who genuinely takes the time to get to know you and make you feel welcome. Working on Shinsub’s tangerine farm was such a fun and rewarding experience. We helped with weeding, harvesting, and packaging, and Shinsub was always patient in explaining everything. The work was enjoyable and very satisfying, especially being part of the whole process. The orchard itself is beautiful, and the accommodation is clean, modern, and spacious, making it a very comfortable place to stay. The most special part of our experience was getting a glimpse into Shinsub’s life. He went out of his way to help us truly experience Jeju — introducing us to his friends, showing us local sights, and sharing delicious local food with us. We would highly recommend this WWOOFing experience. It’s something we will always remember, and we would absolutely love to come back one day!

Hi Sam & Chao! Are you still enjoying your trip? I'm a little sorry I didn't make you more memories during your stay in Jeju Island, but thank you for the compliment. I also like the days I spent with you remain as good memories and I'm less afraid of foreigners. I hope you stay healthy and travel to many countries, and I hope you come to Jeju Island whenever you have time. Thank you.
